Sewing: Cargo Pants for Fall

I loved making convertible cargo pants for my girls this summer and wanted to try them again this Fall, without the "convertibility." Our good friends, Aimee and Brian, brought me a couple yards of fabric home from their trip to Japan last year (what a fabulous, generous souvenir to share! and right during my obsession with japanese import prints) I love this cute print with hedgehogs and mushrooms. It seemed perfect for a pair of school pants for Audrey.

I used the MADE kid pants (with flat front) pattern and enlarged it for Audrey. You can find a tutorial for the rest over here where I'm guest posting for Tip Junkie today.

Great idea - we are moving to a new house with 2.5 acres and I'm trying to find things for my 3 girls that will work with the great outdoors.....these are perfect. Thank you.

So cute! Love the print. Isn't it awesome when someone blesses you with something that you just love and will totally use? :)

Love the pants they are so cute I would even wear them myself lol. Japan is certainly a good place to find some amazing fabric...while it is constantly inspiring to me at least to live here, one walk down the fashion district in a local market and into the many fabric shops was enough to send my heart a flutter. I will very much miss their whimsical children's patterns when we leave to move back to the states in a few years as i'm sure my daughter will too lol.
