For my first one, I purchased a kit from a fabric store, and went back for 2 more kits!! After that, I made my oown chenilles. This is how I did mine...You'll have 5 layers. I used 4 of the exact same print on top, right side up, and then a coordinating print on the bottom, right side down. When laying down the 4 panels, line up the design and it helps to pin. Sew your lines. Only cut thru 3 of the top layers, leaving the bottom coordinating fabric and bottom layer closest to the coordinating fabric uncut. Once you cut thru the 3 top panels, and wash, you should be able to see the design of the 4 panels. I made a spiderman, cars, and a different teddy bear. They are so cute when done! thanks,Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2611352990646835361.post-65816024423267209782015-01-23T21:30:04.303-07:002015-01-23T21:30:04.303-07:00I just made one of these for my new grandson using...I just made one of these for my new grandson using 1/2 inch channels. The first one I made after reading and watching a ot of other sites/blogs they all said 1 inch or 3/4 inch channels. Your tutorial is waaaay better. The first one I made I did the 3/4 inch channels; Let me just say..."BAD IDEA"...the frayed "chenille" is so far apart from each other it does not look right. Yes, I washed it. SEVEN times!!! I even used a chenille brush on it, no luck. So I found your tutorial here with the 1/2 channels and I do believe this is the ticket! Once I've sewn a line of quilting and take it off the machine then the stitching seems to pull and snap as if it was too tight. I've tried changing the tension and stitch length but have had no luck.
